Dealing with our crap: Who Does, Who Doesn’t, and Why? (A Talk on Excretory Justice and the Toilet)

Standard

It was a pleasure to speak with a Detroit, Michigan, USA based climate group run by some of my elders, Dr. Lily Mendoza and Dr. James Perkinson. I shared from the stack of books I’m reading for comprehensive exams, and we interacted throughout the course of the 1.5 hours. What I’m sharing here is an accurate representation (but not the entirety of, of course) of what I have learned up until this point about the power of poo, the community of practice surrounding ecological sanitation, the importance of defecatory justice and excretory justice more broadly, and more!
